My opinon on bible translations
So a lot of us argue about which Bible translation is better to use. Honestly. I think it doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t be about Bibles but about JESUS and believe me He uses everything. There have been moments where He’s used The Message, or ESV or NIV. And if we are learning about Him then what is the problem?
What really bothers me is when people say the King James Version/NKJV is the only right version. WHICH ISNT TRUE. I’m gonna be honest here. I can’t stand either of the KJV/NKJV. I can’t understand it. I feel like I’m reading another language. I understand like the words but not what they mean at all and God has used all different versions. I use NLT, NIV, HCSB, NCV, The Message, ESV and thats what God has used in my life and its different for everyone. I just think we can get super legalistic about it. And be like WELL MY VERSION IS RIGHT. NO. Just NO.
If its leading you to Jesus and is accurate and is the Word of God. THEN ITS FREAKING FINE. You’re still learning about Jesus. I just think we argue about silly little things and forget about Jesus and forget that its ALL about Him and not our little issues we have.
I will not be answering questions on this for a week.
My opinion on abortion.
I believe that abortion is a sin and that it is in fact murder. In Psalm 139 it talks about how God knit us together in our mothers womb and how we are made in His image. I think when it comes to abortion we try and justify it just like anything else. Abortion hurts the woman and the child. The child, obviously, because the child is the one being murdered and having the life stripped from him and the woman because it can cause damage to her body and her emotional stability. A lot of woman who get abortions regret them.
On another note though. I don’t condemn those who get abortions or abortion doctors. Because they are of this world and most of them are scared and probably don’t know Jesus and the doctors think it is right.
I think God loves those women and those doctors and all of the people who help perform and make abortion possible. I’m not condoning it here but I do believe that God loves them just as He loves us. We are all His children and He loves us so dearly. I think something we should do, and I believe strongly is instead of protesting outside of those abortion clinics maybe we could show love to these women and these doctors and be Jesus in skin to them. I really believe the love of Christ can change this world and in the words of casting Crowns. “Jesus is GOING to change the world, maybe the best thing I can do is just get out of the way.”
Again, I will not answer any questions on this post for a week. Thank you. I hope you all have an amazing evening.
Okay so, in Christian circles a lot of us talk about predestination and what we believe about it and why. Well, here is my view.
I do not believe God picks people. I don’t believe there is a thing such as the elect. I believe God wants all people to be saved and I believe once you say Jesus is Lord you cannot lose your salvation. You are a Christian. So, I don’t really believe in predestination.
Here is why:
Most people look at Romans 8:29- 30 for verses for predestination
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 1 Timothy 2:3-4
God desires ALL people to be saved. ALL people to come to the knowledge of the truth. Not just some. Not just a few. ALL. God wants ALL people to be saved. He just gives us the choice because He is loving us this second. This moment. Right now. But He is also asking us, Will you love Me? Will you be my Child? Will you? The choice is yours.
I truly believe all people can be saved through Jesus Christ. He truly is the way and the light. He truly loves us. He has forgiven us.
On another note. I will making posts like this everyday until August 15th. So 28 days. It is a sort of homework assignment from my friend. Because I really am scared to post what I think sometimes. So she has challenged me to post opinions everyday and here is the kicker: I will not answer any, ANY questions on this post for one week. It will be the same for every post. I will answer questions for this post in a week and a week after each post. Thank you. Have a blessed night!
I don’t agree with it. I don’t think that its up to us to decide who lives and who dies. No matter what they’ve done. I just want to say this. NO one is beyond God’s grace.
Now I’m not saying at all there aren’t consequences and that there should no be consequences for people who kill and end up in prision. There should be. But we are all so close to getting to that and I think we don’t realize that. We are all sinful and messy and broken. So are people in jail. They need Jesus. They need to know His love. Killing someone off isnt going to solve anything. I think if its really bad maybe they should get a life sentence for what they’ve done and some counseling.
But I think we are so easy to condemn people who have done horrible things and have been under the influence of satan. There is evil in this world but they are still people and deserve Jesus as much as anyone else. I just don’t think its our place to kill someone for what they’ve done. God is the judge. Not us. Our job is to love people.
Lets forgive. Lets love.
Maybe this title sounds a bit silly but lets get real for a minute. Without God we are empty. We feel this emptiness and before we knew Christ we went to a lot of other things. For me I went to people to love me and accept me and they became what my identity was in. I tried to get them to fill my void but I was always left disappointed and empty. Then God came in and I didnt feel empty. Sometimes I still have my days where we fill empty but thats when we have to go to the well and fill up on Jesus. He will always fill us.
The things of this world will NEVER fill us. Ever. We need to stop trying. Only Jesus will fill us. He will give us an everlasting water. He fills us up so we can give that water to other people and be filled again. God wants everyone to know Him. He wants to bring people to himself. God fills your voice and loves you dearly.
Don’t go to the world to fill you but to the Rock, and The Well. Go to Jesus and let Him fill you. Let Him love you. You are loved.
For those of you who don’t know, The wesboro baptist church is the church that pickets funerals, (mostly of those in the military), and holds protests and holds “God hates Fags” signs and the like. They believe God hates jews, homosexuals, and everyone and the world. Its really sad and digusting. So here is my full on opinion all of this.
I think its wrong. I think they are being misled by satan. Because if you talk to a lot of people who don’t know Jesus, everyone thinks that God hates gays. Which isn’t true. He loves them as much as He loves everyone else. Anyways, the westboro church must have a lot of hate in their hearts to do this. Which saddens me, but it makes me angry because they think they are speaking Gods truth and they aren’t. At all. I think though that we should love them anyways. Jesus tells us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute. I really think we should be praying for them. Which isnt easy but its the right thing to do.
We’re called to be a light in a darkness. SO lets do that. When we hear someone say God hates everyone! God hates gays! Lets go, “No He doesnt. God loves everyone.”
God loves everyone. That is my opinion on this. We are all sinful but God loves us despite that.
God loves you.
I think that pray is a direct communication to God. I believe that we ourselves can go to God is prayer because we are forgiven. I do not believe that we need anyone to intercede for us. ( Mary, Saints, etc.) I think its fine to be praying for someone but I don’t think it is absolutely necessary to pray to someone else, like Mary, or a saint to get to God.
We can go to God ourselves. And we shouldn’t be praying to anyone except Jesus. Why? Because Mary and the Saints were human. They were not gods. They were far from perfect. Very far from perfect. Mary was an imperfect human being. We should only pray to Jesus because He is the way, the truth, and the life. He gives life. Not any other god or the saints.
Prayer is our one link to God and one link of communication with the Father. He adores us and wants us to talk to Him. If you’re having a bad day. Go to Him and prayer and talk to Him about it. God wants to hear from you. <3
It’s really a vile thing. Its corrupted the world. I think sometimes we can judge others if they have a worse sin than we do or we think “Oh I’d never do something like that.” heres the thing though, we are all fallen and we all have evil in us so there is a chance you could. We are all sinful. I’ve been talking with friends for a couple weeks and it hit me when she told me about this book she was reading and it said, we are only experts on our own sin. And isnt that true? We really are only experts on our own sin which doesn’t give us the right to judge others sin. God sees all sin the same and it separates us from Him. There is no way we can fix ourselves up for God. Because the requirement is this : Perfection. No matter how much we try we will never be good enough for God. Sin creates death in us. Sin is an ugly disease we can’t put a bandaid on to get rid of.
There is hope though, There is so much hope. God came down in the form of a man, and died on the Cross for us to get rid of that disease and heal our wounds. He defeated death and sin. And through that we are forgiven, made new, righteous, holy and blameless. In Christ and the Cross there is hope. He has forgiven you. He loves you that much you guys. He really does. And He defeated sin. He killed it. And even though as Christians we still mess up. He still loves us all the same.
So all in all. Sin is an ugly disease but The Cross in the answer and cure to that disease. Christ is and will heal us. He is always there loving us every step of the way. Love. Love as we are called to do.
Be a light.
I think we like to live in our bubbles as Christians one way or another.
Lets get real for a second.
We like to do Christian things and hang out with Christian people and just pretend the world doesn’t exist and that bad things don’t happen. Don’t we all do that at least at one point? I know I have.
Here’s the thing y’all. Theres people out there. There are people who need Jesus and who need to know the Gospel. And yet we’re here sitting on our butts worried about having an atheist talk to us. The world NEEDS Jesus and they NEED to know. I think its pretty important if the great commission is mentioned four times in the bible at the end of each gospel. We gotta get out there and talk to people. Be real. Be God’s light to this world.
Now, we arent the Holy Spirit and we can’t be someone elses Holy Spirit and we can’t pretend that we can save them. Because the fact of it is that we can’t. We are purely vessels God speaks through us and God saves people. We don’t. Thats key in evangelism or else you take everyones burden on yourself when you should be giving that to God.
So I guess the heart of this post is: Go. Preach the good news. Bring the gospel to those who need it most. The lost. The broken. The hurting. Be Jesus-in skin to them.
They can’t know what they haven’t heard.
My personal opinion is that it is the between each and every person and God. Some people can listen to/watch/play secular music, movies and games and others can’t. I really think its a personal decision that needs to made between you and God. If He convicts you to do so. Then do it. If not, then don’t.
But don’t make it that EVERYONE has to do it. Thats called legalism. If you don’t wanna listen to secular music. Then don’t. But don’t tell everyone else that its something they need to know and do or say they aren’t Christian, or good enough or that they aren’t even saved. Because thats wrong. You are saved by grace and faith alone in Jesus Christ.
I just wanna make it clear that what you do doesnt depend on if you’re saved or not. We would be the worst person in the world and could have done things that are just sickening and God still adores us. I’m not sayin those things we do arent screwed up and dont have consequences but God forgives and He loves us and makes us NEW.
What we do and how we screw up DONT define us.
GOD DOES. The Cross does. What He did for us does.
You’re identity is in Christ, not your sins.
Todays opinion is God’s love.
I believe wholeheartedly God loves each and every one of us so much that we can’t even fathom it. We really can’t understand His love because it is so abundant for us. I mean okay, lets just think about this for a second. So God creates man, man breaks the ONE law that God has set for man, sin comes into the world, God sees the only way is that someone who is perfect would have to die for our sins, or else we would. God comes down from the heavens, leaves glory, leaves power and becomes a man, and dies for our sins. What? He did what?
HE DIED FOR OUR SINS. He really did. And we killed Him and He still loves us.
Despite our sin, despite our falling, despite our brokenness, despite us feeling we arent good enough. GOD. STILL. LOVES. US.
Wow. How crazy is that? I can’t wrap my mind around it. God tells us. Will you be my child? I love you. I love you. I love you so much. Come to me all who are weary. Come as you are. I will give you rest. I will give you life so that you can have it to the full. Just come to me?
And we stare at God and we just simply say “What? But..You can’t love me. I’ve had sex before marriage. I’m a prostitute, Im a drug dealer, I’m a religious bigot, im a thief, im an addict. I’m a drunk. I’m a porn star. YOU CAN’T LOVE ME. You can’t. I’m too broken. Too messy. Im not good enough. I’m not good enough for you God. I’m just not. I’m not clean enough.”
God looks at us lovingly and tells us..”You aren’t those things. They do not define you. You are loved. You are loved so much. And I love you. I define you. My son Jesus Christ defines you. The Cross on which you killed Me defines you. The Cross that breathes redemption, mercy, grace and My love for you defines you. Your addictions and sins do NOT define you. You are my Child. Despite your mistakes my beloved, you will ALWAYS be my child.”
I THINK THATS CRAZY.
I can’t wrap my head around it and I dont think we’ll ever be able too.
God loves us all. So i guess my opinion about God’s love is that He loves us despite anything we’ve done. our struggles. He loves us as we are and He sees us as His children.
We are in a war.
I thought for my opinion for today should be something like this because it seems appropriate because of what happened in colorado. Personally I have been seeing a lot of death happen. In my town there has been a stabbing where a person died and then sometime last week a father killed his three daughters. And then this happens in colorado when someone is going to see a movie. I’ll say it again. We are in a war.
For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
- Ephesians 6:12
Things like this I truly believe happen because of the supernatural. Like I said we are in a war and our war is not against the people who do these things but against the devil and the dark forces of this world. Bad things are going to happen here on planet earth. We live in a fallen world that is sin-sick and people desperately need Jesus. I truly believe we should pray for not only the victims and their loved ones but also the opressors, the shooters, those who are influenced by Satan and their sin to do these evil needs. They need Jesus more than we could imagine and are NOT beyond His grace. God loves them too. I don’t know why someone would do this. It is very sad. I can’t even fathom what would drive someone to do things like this. But there is evil in the world. And there is a battle for our souls going on. There really is. These things help me see that more clearly. But theres another thing:
God. Is. Bigger. God is bigger than these tradgedies. He is holding onto those who have lost loved ones and is comforting those who are hurting and are broken in this time. He loves them. He loves us all and His Grace is bigger than this. Satan doesn’t win. Sometimes it seems like he does. But he really doesnt win. He loses. Because God defeated the grave and He is so much bigger then this. He’s got this and he will comfort the broken.
Romans 12 comes to mind when I think about what the response of Christians should be to people who experience grief and when things like this happen that are truly horrific
When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.
Romans 12:13-15
I firmly believe that we should weep with those who weep and always be ready to help this world and be a light for Christ. I think that is our job as Christians. I think we are called to be a light to this broken world. I’m not condoning what this guy did or what anyone does in things like this. But I am saying we should pray for him and love him even when it is hard. And God will give us the strength to do that. I think God loves him just the same as us. So ending this on a long note. Lets be encouragers and comforters and lovers of Christ in this tragic time. Lets remember and lets love as Christ loves the Church and how He loves us.
I believe it is a sin. I believe when we masturbate, we are either thinking of ourselves or lusting after someone else. We are trying to release stress, pain, etc. Its an escape.
But heres the thing. God forgives. He forgives so much. He forgave that 2,000 years ago. And He won’t give up on you cause you made a mistake. He loves you SO much and I know I say this so much but I dont think I say it enough. God will not leave you where you are at He loves you too much. He will heal you. It may take time and be a process but it will happen. He has forgiven you. He has given you life. He will walk through this with you and He will never give up on you. The shame you feel is not how God sees you. When God looks at you He sees Jesus Christ, He sees a beautiful and precious son and daughter of God. Through the Cross God sees you as spotless and blameless. He doesnt remember your sin. Hes forgotten it.
You are not what you’ve done.
You’re what Christ has done for you.
And that my friends, is how God sees you. He doesnt see your shame and sins. He sees beauty from ashes.
So, I thought I’d do this for my opinion today. I read two quotes about how we let our pride get the best of us and we make this about being right. We don’t make it about Jesus. We make it about us. I also read the article which these quotes I reblogged came from.
I mean lets think about this for a minute. I know I do this. We think were right. We want to be right. In our minds if we aren’t right then our whole world is gonna fall apart. We are prideful. Instead of seeing the millions of people starving from world hunger, those who have HIV and AIDS, those who are in stuck in the sex industry. Those who are being sex trafficked here in the US and around the world. Those who are homeless. Instead of choosing to see these people and participate in God’s plan we decide to argue with people. We decide to argue about homosexuality, heaven and hell, whos right. Whos wrong. We argue with muslims, athiests, and all other sorts of religions and cults. Now I am not saying theology isnt important because theology is. But, if theology becomes our god we’ve got a problem. Jesus has to be the center and instead of praying and being Jesus in skin to people. Instead of loving people we decide to argue. Why do we argue? Because we want to be right? I know I have this problem. I argue all the time when really, it should be about loving others. And I’ve screwed up big time in this area, so me writing this is for you guys and also for me. I think instead of talking about chick-fil-a constantly, why don’t we talk about Jesus Christ constantly? Why don’t we talk about His grace and love constantly? Because this debate on chick-fil-a and homosexuality doesn’t change hearts. It doesnt change lives. It doesnt raise dead people and make them alive. It doesn’t make you forgiven. It doesnt give you life. God’s grace and mercy and love does that. So lets forget about ourselves and what we think we deserve and our rights and live for other people. Lets put them above ourselves. Lets live recklessly abandoned lives to Christ. Lets live for Jesus.
Lets shine for the whole world to see His marvelous Light.
